Brooklyn Bowl and THE L MAGAZINE'S FAT TUESDAY WITH SOUTHERN COMFORT PRESENT:
In honor of Fat Tuesday and its venerable tradition of indie rock and bicycle processions, The L Magazine, in conjunction with Southern Comfort, have organized a night of lo-fi surf punk and two-wheeled parade pageantry to put New Orleans to shame. As part of the celebration, Wavves along with rising beat-maker, dance-starter MNDR.
There will also be a parade -- a Brooklynized Mardi Gras affair featuring a marching band, burlesque dancers (including a float with Angie Pontani, Helen Pontani, Darlinda Just Darlinda, Akynos, The Maine Attraction and Lil Miss Lixx), beginning at 7pm at McCarren Park and Driggs. Costumed revelers and bicyclists are invited to join. The parade will then proceed down Driggs, up Bedford and over to Wythe Avenue, arriving at Brooklyn Bowl around 8pm, where prizes await the best bicycle float. The best-dressed revelers will be crowned king and queen of the Carnival. There will be Southern Comfort specials throughout the night. As well as special prizes for the most outlandish Mardi Gras costumes.

Hounds of Hate hail from the heart of the hipster community of East London. Their music is chopped and screwed beyond anything that is considered to be chill wave, but is more of an acid fueled hip hop party underwater. They seem to be exciting a few people over in London and it sounds like they have a video coming out for one of their singles soon, but why wait for that? check out a recently circulated you tube vid of the gang covering Snoop Dogg- "Sensual Seduction". On May 4 both Hounds of Hate and Hype Williams are slated to take over Grasslands here in Brooklyn. Buy Hounds of Hates' mixtape with Hype Williams (not thee Hype Williams but an excellent artist none the less) here. Alternately, you could Check them out below!

Die Antwoord
If this is for serious, then its the best thing to come out this year.
Die Antwoord is a South African band straight out of Cape Town. Headed by a skinny man by the name of Ninja whos rap style is anything but sleepy... Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek (amateur 'pc computer' beat maker) round out the group. If you take a peek at their live performance you’ll surely be just as impressed. Regardless if you are into this type of music, it’s within your best interest to swing by their site (which happens to be just as awesome as the rest of their videos and materials) and you can educate yourself (and friends) on all that they are. Super next level shit and without a doubt skanky fresh material.
