---- Museum of Bellas Artes ----

Presenting the latest wave of Swedish pop! Oh, how a a simple cover will catapult you state side! Covering the 1964 Sapphires hit, "Who Do You Love". Forty-five years later, Stockholm trio Museum of Bellas Artes remake this soulful oldie as light, carefree, dance-pop on a digital-only single released over the summer by Force Majeure. Bouncy synths and a crunchy down beat, run counter to the angst and truly inquisitive lyrics. Ok, the best part about this rendition is the where, alone, the single bass line and the synths carry us across the bridge and off a cliff! DROP... and then back up harder and more forceful at the chorus. There is no denying the Swedish pop that has graced this site. But, it is a fact that we need to hear more from this group. Hopefully they will not disappoint, should I suggest by releasing an original single? Only time will tell. Also anyone who likes jj's n° 2 will surely lose the better portion of a day addicted to this song! Check it out below...........

Swedish Female Invasion

+Warning+ If you like dancey-pop music with female vocals all of these artists will exceed expectations.

Swedish pop has maintained a presence on the international music scene since the early 1960s, when The Spotnicks hit the charts in the states. the rise of ABBA in the 1970s marked the beginning of one of the greatest pop groups of all time. In recent years Swedish indie artists have played an important role in the music industry. Some claim an important component in this contemporary success is in part due to the inclination of swedes to embrace new trends quickly, whether it is in music, fashion or film. Something else that some claim sets Sweden apart from many other countries is that most Swedes speak English fairly well, which also means that a majority of the Swedish artists who succeed abroad sing in English. The first to burst from this Swedish bubble is Robyn, a young talent, signing with a major label at the age of 18.
Emerged on the US charts with her single "With Every Heartbeat"

Collaboration with Snoop with his hit 2007 single "Sexual Seduction"

Over the last few years increased access to the internet has also played a decisive role; many Swedish musicians have chosen to use this worldwide medium to disseminate their music and become famous. Lykke Li has Myspace to thank for her breakthrough.

Lykke Li has lived in a bunch of places but calls Sweden her home. Her breakout hit, “Little Bit” really made people notice her and put her on their radar. The good news is, the album is out (so go buy it)...
