The UK’s answer to chillwave is finally here, or something akin to lo-production/high creative talent of Washed Out and Memory Tapes the hard edge technology sound that comes with a smattering of British musicians. They go by the name of Jai Paul and are composed of Jai himself and Anup Paul (of some relation i'm assuming). Driven by Dilla drums (maybe some early Streets?, some complementary midi sounds and dribbled with hints of Prince charming little dreamy harmonies, Jai Paul adds a slap-back echo vocal and makes totally amazing jams. I have to admit this track below titled "BTSTU" had me floored and enamored, and its originality screams “I know i'm good”.
