--- Discovery ---
Discovery is a side-project between Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles. They have an album coming out July 7th on XL Recordgins (same label as VW) and the music they make together is just as good as the music they’ve made with their respective bands. It sounds a little bit like what you’d expect, softly sung pop vocals with melodies that show the musicianship of those involved. But Discovery contains something that is a little bit more interesting than the pure indiepop thats circling in the stream at this time. The synthlines are not afraid to show their old and cheesy side, and the drums are tamperd with till they are almost unrecognizable as human. “Osaka Loop Line” is a cross between a rave, a gameboy and the good old Paul Simon-infused pop cerca 1987 that we’ve loved since birth. Both songs are really interesting and present a beautiful combination of the two musicians, and well worth a listen. Big things are definitely in store for the duo if they continue with this project.

Banksy Versus Bristol Museum
Bristol's famous graffiti artist, Banksy has done what no other artist has done and that is take over a museum and insert all of his own work. Although the identity of the artist is still unknown he was able to pull off one of the greatest guerrilla exhibtion. More at BBC.

Whats this bombastic dank oozing from my speakers? oh its just Wavves sending sick beach party punk to my auditory ducts... delish. The band is made up of singer/guitar player Nathan Williams and drummer Ryan Ulsh, I think they are from the western seaboard, actually simply from their sound I know they are. I feel like getting lit on a beach and messing around in the surf every time I put their second full-length, self titled album, Wavvves, which came out this past February. Totally boss. Dude, catch hold of this contagious youthful exuberance.... its a serious -itus... I'm pretty sure the only thing that can combat this sickness is buying a one day pass to Pitchfork Fest and just rock out under the sun. yup! Check out some mp3s below the video...
