Kanye tragedy or Max Justus
Here we have a new mix tape re-produced by Max Justus, who took Kanye’s 808's and injected 8 of the songs with the gritty, fun, electro/chiptune beats that Max is known for, and that some think should have been there in the first place.
There’s a slightly spaced out jam for Love Lockdown, an uplifting and occasionally chopped groove for Street Lights, a dance hop redo of Welcome To Heartbreak, an Amiga shuffle on Heartless, and a whole lot of sparkle and charisma all over.
Well, while I have to admit it rocks, hard, There's something that is similar to a slap in the face when you take an album (especially from someone who is as a pompous protectionist as Kanye is, and who you know produced it to the point where he thought it acuratly represented what he wanted to create), and superimpose and rework and remaster it into something you deem better. However, I think remixing is great, and should be done, and allowed, I don't think it should ever replace the original album... anyway that's my two cents. Listen to this with great admiration but don't forget the original.
