My Gold Mask is a two piece out of Chicago that create songs that are a delicate balance between 90’s alternative minimalist rock gestures and futuristic psychedelic shit. Gretta Rochelle sings and plays drums. Jack Armondo plays a nylon string electric guitar. What strikes me about this duo stems straight from the versatility of Rochelle’s vocals— mostly soaring but she’s not afraid to trash it up and throw her sound total into the gutter.
