A lot of really cool psyche-rock is coming out of LA right now, really innovative, soul penetrating stuff. Jogger are a live electronic act composed of Jonathan Larroquette and Amir Yaghmai combining psyche-folk leanings similar Animal Collective and Ratatat with the sort of beat science trimmings more associated with the many faces of Daedelus. This Great Pressure is their debut full length release on the new Alpha Pup Records imprint, Magical Properties, and clearly demonstrates a distinct sound and a band ready to embrace the world with their fantastic sound. Jogger’s aesthetic centres around a few well chosen sonic themes, from afrobeat to the electronic rhythmic from techno crescendos and perfectly timed drops to glitched bit-tastic hiphop. What really stands out are their ethereal vocal harmonies that seem to transcend popular music, giving the project a very indie-friendly edge. i've kind of been obsessing over this song for the last three weeks but have been to lazy to figure out how to get the mp3. so instead i just watch the youtube video on my phone, and people judge me. THE END.
